SKUAST-K’s skill training on climate-smart agriculture begins in B’gam

Srinagar: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir kick-started a one-week skill training titled ‘Climate Smart Agriculture Practices for Rural Livelihood’ for the rural youth of district Budgam.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office SKUAST –K here the training is organised by the SKUAST-K’s Dry Land Agriculture Research Station (DARS) in collaboration with the Directorate of Extension under the Skill Training for Rural Youth (STRY) program by MANAGE, Hyderabad at Government Higher Secondary School, Wathura, Budgam. The aim of training is to impart skill-based learning experiences to the rural youth. The training was attended by 25 participants besides the staff of the school.
Dr Faisul ur Rasool, training coordinator briefed the participants about the importance of climate-smart agriculture and its components. He advised the trainees to empower themselves through specific skill sets. The Principal of the school Yasmeen Qadir lauded the efforts of DARS, Rangreth for conducting such programs to ignite the young minds for their betterment.
