PM Modi speaks to Netanyahu on peace and stability in the region

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu on the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, and highlighted India’s consistent stand in favour of early restoration of peace & stability in the region.

The two leaders also deliberated on their shared concerns on the safety of maritime traffic.

In a post on X, Modi said, “Had a productive exchange of views with PM @netanyahu on the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, including shared concerns on the safety of maritime traffic. Highlighted India’s consistent stand in favour of early restoration of peace & stability in the region with continued humanitarian assistance for the affected”.

The Prime Minister spoke to the Israeli PM a week after India voted in favour of a United Nations resolution that demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

According to the health ministry in Gaza, at least 19,600 people have been killed in Israeli attacks since October 7. UNI
