Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said Uttar Pradesh received investment proposals worth Rs 40 lakh crore during Global Investors Summit held last year which will provide employment to 1.10 crore youths therefore technical institutions should understand the demands of the industry and design courses accordingly.
Addressing the mega Rozgar Mela and the appointment letter distribution ceremony of newly selected candidates at the Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology (MMMUT) campus organised by the UP-Skill Development Mission, the CM said, “It is essential to connect the youth with training for their empowerment. There is also a need to include them in the CM Internship Program, wherein the government and the industry jointly fund their stipends with each contributing 50 percent of the amount, allowing them to be self-reliant during their education.”
Expressing satisfaction over the Rozgar Mela organised at MMMUT for the second time in a year, benefitting nearly 15,000 young individuals, he encouraged those still seeking placements to persist in their efforts. He assured them of the government’s active commitment to creating ample employment opportunities.
Yogi said that the state government’s top priority is to provide employment to every hand. “It’s a new UP of new India, witnessing success in various fields. The Department of Vocational Education, in collaboration with data technology, is working on developing new courses following global standards,” he said.
To provide international employment opportunities, he mentioned collaborations with Israel, Russia, and Germany. “Youth selected for employment in Israel will receive free meals, accommodation and a monthly salary of Rs 1.5 lakh after completing their ITI,” he said.
The CM pointed out the high demand for skilled nursing professionals in Germany and advocated for career counselling, language training and global employment awareness through placement cells.
He said that there is great demand for skilled youths of UP in the Middle East and South East Asian countries. He announced the setting up of 150 world-class ITIs in collaboration with Tata Technology to meet the global demand for skilled youth.
Yogi said that there are 96 lakh MSME units in the state, emphasizing the importance of connecting these units with markets and technology to enhance product distribution for exports, leading to better job opportunities with attractive packages for young individuals.
Underlining the success of initiatives like the Vishwakarma Yojana under which youths are provided training and toolkits, he highlighted ongoing efforts, including providing interest-free loans to entrepreneurs and a new incentive package for young entrepreneurs.
The CM said that owing to the efforts made in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision in the past few years, presently the people of UP are spending their money in UP itself. “The CD ratio here has increased from 42 to 56 per cent today. This is making a significant contribution to development,” he said.
He called for educational institutions to conduct skill mapping, identifying and guiding the youth based on their abilities. He emphasized the significance of the new National Education Policy, incorporating both traditional curriculum and skills, to address unemployment.
Yogi said that the unemployment rate in the state has reduced from 19 percent to 2 percent which is a testament to the effectiveness of these efforts aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.
During the Rozgar Mela, the CM personally inspected various stalls, gaining insights into the work being done by different departments, livelihood missions and innovations.
