COVID-19: 5 more patients die; 487 test positive in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday recorded 05 deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,668 in the Union Territory while as 487 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 108,306 in J&K.

Of the exact number of 108,306 cases, 64,985 are from Kashmir and 43,321 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 487 new cases, 255 belong to Kashmir division while as 232 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 64,985 including 60,646 recoveries and 1,094 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 43,321 including 40,717 recoveries and 574 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,275 including 3,245 from Kashmir division and 2,030 from Jammu division.

With 471 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 101,363, which is 93.58 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 110 from Srinagar, 29 from Baramulla, 27 from Budgam, 15 from Pulwama, 19 from Kupwara, 05 from Anantnag, 07 from Bandipora, 21 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 19 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 232 from Jammu division include 111 from Jammu, 05 from Rajouri, 28 from Udhampur, 19 from Doda, 25 from Kathua, 01 from Poonch, 12 from Samba, 15 from Kishtwar, 07 from Ramban and 09 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours five persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them three belong to Kashmir division and two to Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two from Srinagar and one from Baramulla in Kashmir division and two from Jammu district in Jammu division.

As per officials figures, 22,708 positive cases including 415 deaths and 20,988 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,345 including 161 deaths and 6,786 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,804 including 6,398 recoveries and 99 deaths are from Budgam, 5,036 including 4,800 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,133 including 82 deaths and 4,604 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,519 including 4,318 recoveries and 77 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,374 cases including 4,174 and 50 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,149 including 3,880 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,585 including 2,480 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,332 including 2,218 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 20,203 including 19,337 recoveries and 294 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,394 including 3,259 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,433 including 2,971 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,030 including 2,755 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Doda, 2,731 including 2,617 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Kathua, 2,386 including 2,290 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,415 including 2,239 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Samba, 2,407 including 2,165 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,881 including 1,739 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,441 including 1,345 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 778,968 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 19,455 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,275 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 707,432 persons have completed surveillance period and 45,138 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,912,826 samples are available.

Out of 2,912,826 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,804,520 while as 108,306 have tested positive, among them 5,275 persons are active, 101,363 persons have recovered and 1,668 persons have died—(KNO)
