Patna: Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP member of Rajya Sabha Sushil Kumar Modi today said the new law would help in checking the misuse of social media by vested elements.
Mr Modi said that new IT law would help greatly in checking the misuse of social media by vested elements as such cases had increased alarmingly in last few years . In no way, the new IT law would compromise the the personal liberty of the people and their privacy would also be well protected, he added .
Mr Modi said that the image of country was being dented as vested elements were posting misleading comments on social media. Social media companies would have the responsibility to appoint redressal officer within 15 days and inform the government,
he said adding that redressal officer would be under compulsion to look into complaints of misuse of social media.
