Gangster Tillu Tajpuriya killed by rival gang in Tihar Jail

New Delhi: Jailed gangster Sunil Mann alias Tillu Tajpuriya was killed after he was allegedly attacked by four inmates of a rival gang in Delhi’s Tihar jail on Tuesday morning, Tihar jail official said.
According to jail officials, Tillu (33) was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors during the treatment in the hospital.
Tillu, an accused in Rohini Court shootout case, was lodged in the ground floor of high security ward, he was allegedly attacked by four inmates affiliated to rival Gogi gang, Deepak (31) alias Titar, Yogesh (30) aka Tunda, Rajesh (42) and Riyaz Khan (39) who were lodged in the first floor of the same ward from where they cut open the security grills and jumped on the ground floor using bed sheets and entered inside Tillu’s ward and attacked him with improvised ‘sua”, said a jail official.
Injured Tillu was rushed to DDU hospital after giving the required medical attention at the Central Jail OPD at around 6.45 am but he was declared dead during treatment at DDU hospital, said a jail official.
Delhi police said improvised knives allegedly used in the offence were recovered from the accused persons and legal action has been initiated under sections 302/307/34 IPC at Hari Nagar Police Station.
According to the police, information was received at Hari Nagar PS today from DDU hospital stating that an Under Trial Prisoner (UTP) Sunil Mann alias Tillu Tapuriya, resident of village Tajpur Kalan, was admitted in DDU hospital from Tihar Jail. He was later declared dead in the hospital.
During enquiry it was revealed that another UTP Rohit was also injured in this incident and he was under treatment in the hospital.
The jail staff told police that UTPs Tittar, Riyaz, Tunda and Rajesh had allegedly attacked Tillu with improvised knives and brutally stabbed him. When UTP Rohit tried to intervene he was also attacked and injured, police said.
Autopsy of the deceased has been conducted, a report of which is awaited. However, prima facie it was found that the deceased had multiple stab wounds all over the body.
