Visits Rajouri interacts with officers, cops, chairs jurisdictional officers meeting
Rajouri: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh has paid a two days extensive visit to District Rajouri to review the security, law and order and crime scenario of the district.
He interacted with the officers and jawans of the district and chaired jurisdictional officers meeting in DPL Rajouri.
According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the meeting was attended by Vivek Gupta, DIG Rajouri Poonch range, Chandan Kohli, SSP Rajouri, Liaqat Ali, Additional SP Rajouri, GL Sharma, Additional SP Nowshera and all jurisdictional officers of district Rajouri.
While chairing the security review meet, IGP stressed for continuous coordination and synergy among the forces for better deliverance at different levels.
He said that accountability and public cooperation is imperative to get desired results of policing at different fronts. He said that the efficient initiative taken by Rajouri Police with other sister agencies have ensured security of the people besides maintenance of law and order. He said that “our efforts would continue to gain public confidence and foil the sinister designs of the anti-national elements.”
The officers also briefed the IGP about the dynamics of the area and steps taken to control crime, check on militancy and radicalized elements.
IGP stressed upon the officers for effective domination in respective areas to keep the activities of suspicious elements under surveillance. He stressed on focus on qualitative changes, keeping in view the advancements on the security front. He directed officers to strengthen intelligence gathering mechanism.
To foil any attempt by anti-social elements, close liaison should be maintained at every level and the officers supervising different components should be briefed accordingly.
The IGP stressed on maintaining alertness on the LOC and also in the hinterland for which he advised strengthening of nakas to check the movement of suspected persons.
“A watch over relatives of the persons residing in the proximity of LOC and presently abroad as well as those earlier involved in militancy related incidents needs to be maintained,” he said.
The IGP accompanied with DIG Rajouri, SSP Rajouri, Additional SP Nowshera and SDPO Nowshera paid a visit to Police Stations Kalakote, Dharamsal and Sunderbani where he inspected the different sections of these Police Stations including Roznamcha, CCTNS and other sections and sought feedback from the SHOs and staff deputed in these sections.
During his interaction with the police personnel and the officers, the IGP was briefed about the crime situation and its disposal, law and order and the measures taken by these Police Stations.
While interacting with the officers and cops, the IGP exhorted upon them to respond to the public issues promptly and adopt a public friendly approach to win the hearts and minds of the public. “Thrust should be given to record building and upkeep of Police assets,” he said.
Earlier yesterday, the IGP Jammu accompanied with DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, SSP Rajouri and Additional SP Nowshera took stock of the construction work of Modern Naka Thalka of Nowshera and reviewed the functioning of the naka.
While inspecting the work of the Modern Naka, instructions were given to the officers and the executing agency on the spot.
SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli apprised the IGP about the security scenario and measures taken for maintaining peace, law & order and to check on the spread of COVID-19 in the district—(KNO)
