Modi govt increased variable DA of central sector workers: Anurag Thakur

Hamirpur: Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Saturday said that the Centre has increased the dearness allowance of central sector workers from Rs 105 per month to Rs 210 per month thereby helping 1.05 crore workers.

While thanking the Prime Minister for this, Anurag Thakur said, “The Central Government has been working for the welfare of farmers and workers under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. In this direction, the Modi government decided to increase the Variable Dearness Allowance (Variable DA) of more than 1.5 crore workers in the central region from Rs 105 to Rs 210 per month in order to prevent workers from getting financially in this difficult time of Corona disaster.

“This increase will come into effect from April 1, 2021. This will also increase the minimum wage rate for employees and workers working in the central sector, which will benefit the employees associated with various scheduled employments of the central government. Increase in variable DA will help them in difficult times of this pandemic and I thank the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for this commendable decision” the minister said.

Thakur said, “The result of the Modi government running the MGNREGA systematically and increasing its budget is the result that 1.85 crore people have been given work under MGNREGA till date in May 2021 amid the Covid epidemic”.

He said that in the financial year 2021-22, as on 13 May 2021, 2.95 crore people have been given work under the MGNREGA, with 5.98 lakh properties completed and 34.56 crore labor-day work generated.
