Never seen a more beautiful place than Kashmir: Aamir Khan

Srinagar: Mesmerized by the meadows, waterfalls and landscapes of the valley, ace Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan said that he has never seen a beautiful place like Kashmir in his entire life.
“I have never seen a more beautiful place in my life than Kashmir. It is because the people of the valley are as beautiful as Kashmir,” Mr Khan told reporters on the sideline of the launching ceremony of Jammu and Kashmir’s new film policy at the SK International Convention Center on the banks of Dal Lake here last night.
“It is gratifying that Sinha Sahib (Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha) has formulated this policy. This will give the industry a chance to come here again and shoot their films in these beautiful valleys. Not just India, people from all over the world will also get a chance to see the beauty of Kashmir,” he said.
Mr Khan, who has been living in the valley for the past several days for a film’s shooting, said that he wants Kashmir to have its own film industry. “The LG was saying that efforts are being made to promote local talent here… This is a big deal. I would like to see films in Kashmir as we have in other languages,” he said.
Responding to a question on whether he would be an ambassador of Kashmir in rest of the world, Mr Khan said he would definitely promote the valley.
Meanwhile, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha said that he considers new film policy as a historic turning point. “The film policy was formulated after a meeting with all stakeholders. People from the film industry have been very supportive. The administration here is trying to bring back the old days here,” he told reporters.
