34 members of Nomadic families stuck in snow rescued by police in Kashmir

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday rescued 34 members of Nomadic community who were stuck in heavy winds and snowfall at higher reaches of Kashmir.
According to a police spokesman, Budgam police rescued four families comprising of sixteen members of Nomadic community who were stuck in heavy winds and snowfall at higher reaches of Nagbal Yousmarg.
He said police received a call for assistance from the nomads putting up tents at higher reaches of Nagbal Yousmarg where four families were stuck due to snowfall.
A team of police personnel were rushed to the spot to rescue the members of nomadic families along with their livestock.
The Nomads were shifted temporarily to Government High School, Nagbal and provided necessary relief, the Police said.
He said eighteen members’ along with livestock who were also stuck at the higher reaches of Neelinad Shahdab in Shopian district of south Kashmir were rescued and shifted to safer places.
