Srinagar: An overground worker of “ The Resistance Front” was arrested in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday, police said.
They said the OGW identified as Farooq Ahmad Malik of Kitchama Baramulla was arrested along with a hand grenade, two pistol magazines and 16 live rounds.
“Joint parties of Police, Army and CRPF arrested OGW of TRF/ LET at Kitchama. A Chinese Hand Grenades, two pistol magazines and 16 live pistol rounds were also recovered from him,” a police statement said.
He said the individual is OGW of active militant Hilal Ahmad Sheikh resident of Shrakwara Kreeri, Baramulla.
Police had registered a case under sections of Indian Arms Act and UA (P) Act in Police Station Sheeri and investigation has been set in motion.
