J&K Govt orders winter vacation for schools, directs teaching faculty to conduct online interaction once a week

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday ordered winter vacation for all government educational institutions including private recognized schools and directed teaching faculty to conduct online interaction with students through “Whatsapp group or Google-meet” at least once in a week during the vacations.
According to the Principal Secretary School Education Department, BK Singh, winter vacations upto 8th standard would be observed from December 6, 2021 to February 26, 2022 and from Class 9th to Class 12th it would be from December 13, 2021 to February 2022.
Both government and private schools have been asked to complete ongoing exams of regular academic session 2020-21 for different classes.
“There will be online interaction of teaching faculty with students through ‘Whatsapp group or Google-meet etc. at least once in a week,” an order issued from the Department of School Education said.
Teacher shall remain available for any query and doubt of any student on phone or Whatsapp etc, it added.
