J&K govt sets up committee to prepare draft proposal for Madrasa Board

Srinagar: To regulate the curriculum of Madrasas, Jammu and Kashmir government has set up a committee to prepare a draft proposal for Madrasa Board.

The Director of School Education, Kashmir has set up a four-member draft committee that will meet on four days from Wednesday and submit a report by or before January 10.

”Sanction is hereby accorded to the establishment of Draft Committee comprising below-mentioned officers/officials who will prepare a comprehensive draft proposal regarding establishment of a Madrasa Board in J-K,” the Director of School Education, Kashmir, said in an order issued on Monday.

The members of the committee include Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Bhat, Principal, Higher Secondary School Nowgam, Bandipora; Dr.Shakeel Ahmad Khan, Senior Lecturer, Boys Higher Secondary School Zadibal, Srinagar, Mohammad Shafi Wani, Senior lecturer Boys Higher Secondary School Mujgund, Srinagar and Nazir Ahmad Motta, Coordinator and in charge of cultural education wing (CEW) of Director School Education Kashmir.

The Madrasa boards are established to promote Islamic education and provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become responsible members of their community.
