Jammu Police nabs two notorious criminals

Jammu: Police on Wednesday arrested two notorious criminals in Miran Sahib area here in the city outskirts.
The police spokesman said that acting tough against hardcore criminals in R S Pura and Miran Sahib area, two hardcore criminals were apprehended.
He added that one of them was detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for his repeated criminal activities in an organised manner, posing a threat to peace.
The arrested person was identified as Tajinder Singh alias Happy of Miran Sahib, District Jammu.
The accused did not change his behaviour/criminal activities, in spite of which, he has been booked under several FIR’s and has been arrested by police in number of cases earlier, but he continued his criminal activities and such activities are likely to disturb, peace, tranquillity and public order particularly in Police Sub Division R S Pura of Jammu District, he added.
As per Police record, the said criminal is involved in more than 10 cases including those involving heinous offences.
Keeping in view the activities of accused as these amount to propagating the criminal activities, thus the accused was ordered to be detained under Section-8 of Public Safety Act (PSA) by the orders of the District Magistrate Jammu.
The spokesman further said that one more notorious, hardcore criminal and repeated offender namely Raman Kumar of Kathar, Arnia was also detained, who had been recently released from Jail and was again found indulging in criminal activities.
With the arrest of both these notorious criminals who are also repeat offenders, Jammu and Kashmir Police has given a loud message that no one would be allowed to disturb peace and tranquillity in the area.
