This year, to celebrate the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ the installation of 72 ft high monumental National Flag right at the Line of Control in Keran marked the commencement of the annual event. It also included sports events like Cricket, Volleyball, Athletics, 10 kms Marathon and Tug of War competitions besides cultural programmes for the villages of the Keran Sector. This year’s special attraction was a 5 Kms Women’s Walkathon which witnessed a high level of excitement and participation from the girls of the valley. Like every year, this year also the Cricket Tournament witnessed a very active and zealous participation of teams from various parts of Keran Sector besides teams from areas of Kupwara district.
